Terms of Use
Last updated: 25 September 2026
These Terms of Use apply to online courses, educational materials, digital content and related services provided under the trading name eFarriery Education, operated by Alex Ridgeway as a sole trader in the United Kingdom (“eFarriery Education”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By creating an account, purchasing or enrolling in a course, accessing course materials or otherwise using this website, you agree to these Terms of Use.
1. About eFarriery Education
eFarriery Education provides online education relating principally to farriery, equine hoof care, equine anatomy, biomechanics, horse management and associated professional subjects.

2. Educational Purpose
All courses, videos, diagrams, written materials, photographs, demonstrations and other educational content are provided for education and professional development.
Course content is not a substitute for appropriate veterinary diagnosis, professional assessment, practical training, supervision or individual clinical judgement.
Horses vary considerably in their anatomy, conformation, pathology, environment, workload and response to treatment or hoof-care interventions. Information demonstrated in a course therefore may not be appropriate for every horse or situation.
You remain responsible for deciding whether and how any information is applied in practice.
You must work within your own training, experience, competence, professional responsibilities and any applicable legislation or professional standards.
Where veterinary diagnosis or treatment is required, advice should be obtained from a suitably qualified veterinary surgeon.
3. Risks Associated With Horses and Farriery
Working with horses, tools and farriery equipment carries inherent risk.
Some course material may demonstrate practical techniques involving horses, feet, tools, equipment or hoof-care procedures.
You should not attempt a technique unless you have the appropriate competence, experience, facilities, equipment and, where necessary, professional supervision.
eFarriery Education does not guarantee that a technique demonstrated within a course will be appropriate for a particular horse.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability which cannot lawfully be excluded.
4. Course Access
When you purchase or enrol in a course, you receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to access the course for your own learning.
The period of course access will be stated on the relevant course page or at the time of purchase.
If no specific access period is stated, access will continue for as long as the course remains available through eFarriery Education, subject to these Terms.
Course access is provided to the individual account holder only.
You must not:
share your account or login details with another person;
permit another individual or organisation to use your course access;
resell or transfer your course access; or
use one purchase to train multiple individuals unless a group, institutional or commercial licence has expressly been purchased.
We may suspend access where we reasonably believe an account is being shared or used in breach of these Terms.
5. Intellectual Property
Unless expressly stated otherwise, all original course materials produced by eFarriery Education are owned by Alex Ridgeway and protected by applicable copyright and intellectual-property laws.
This includes, where applicable:
course videos;
photographs;
presentations;
illustrations;
anatomical diagrams;
written notes;
teaching documents;
downloadable PDFs;
quizzes and assessments;
graphics;
animations;
course structure and presentation;
original anatomical models;
original 3D models and digital files; and
other educational resources.
Your purchase gives you permission to use course materials for your own personal education or professional development.
It does not transfer ownership of the content or intellectual property to you.
Without prior written permission from eFarriery Education, you must not:
reproduce course materials;
distribute course materials;
share downloaded resources with other people;
upload course materials to another website, social-media platform or file-sharing service;
screen-record or otherwise copy course videos;
sell, sublicense or commercially distribute course content;
use course content to create another course, training programme or educational product;
provide paid teaching substantially based upon our protected course materials;
reproduce our diagrams, models, photographs or teaching resources for commercial purposes; or
remove copyright, attribution or proprietary notices.
You may take reasonable personal notes for your own learning.
6. Third-Party Material
Some courses may contain appropriately licensed third-party material, references to external research, quotations, links or other resources.
Ownership of third-party material remains with the relevant rights holder.
Where third-party content requires attribution or is subject to a particular licence, that licence remains applicable.
7. Payments
Course prices will be shown before purchase.
Payments are processed through the payment methods made available at checkout.
Where applicable, taxes will be dealt with in accordance with the information displayed during purchase.
If a payment plan is offered, you are responsible for completing the agreed payments unless you have a statutory right to cancel or we agree otherwise.
8. Digital Content and Cancellation Rights
Our online courses include digital content which may be made available immediately after purchase.
Where required by law, before immediate access begins we may ask you to:
expressly consent to digital content being supplied immediately; and
acknowledge that beginning supply may affect or end your statutory 14-day cancellation right.
If the necessary consent or acknowledgement has not been obtained, your statutory rights remain unaffected.
Nothing in these Terms removes or restricts rights provided to consumers under applicable UK consumer law.
9. Refunds
Any additional refund guarantee specifically advertised on a course sales page forms part of the terms of that purchase.
Where no additional refund guarantee is advertised, refunds will be provided where required by applicable consumer law.
Digital content supplied to consumers must meet applicable statutory standards, including being of satisfactory quality, fit for any particular purpose where legally applicable, and as described.
We may also offer a refund or other resolution at our discretion where circumstances reasonably justify doing so.
10. Course Descriptions
We aim to describe each course accurately.
Before purchasing, you should review information including:
course subject matter;
intended audience;
level of instruction;
included materials;
course access period, where stated; and
any prerequisites.
You are responsible for determining whether the course is appropriate for your level of experience and intended purpose.
Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights where a course does not correspond with its description.
11. Course Updates
Farriery, veterinary knowledge, biomechanics, research and professional practices develop over time.
We may therefore update, amend, replace or add course material to improve accuracy or reflect developments in knowledge or practice.
Older course material may not necessarily reflect the latest available evidence or professional guidance.
Where a substantial change would materially alter something a consumer has already purchased, applicable consumer rights will remain unaffected.
12. Course Withdrawal
We may withdraw or discontinue courses where reasonably necessary, including because:
material has become outdated;
a course is being substantially replaced;
technical or platform changes make continued delivery impractical;
intellectual-property issues arise; or
continued provision is no longer commercially reasonable.
Where a paid learner would otherwise lose material course access substantially earlier than was represented at purchase, we will seek to provide an appropriate remedy taking into account the circumstances and applicable consumer law.
13. Certificates
Where eFarriery Education provides a certificate of completion, it confirms completion of the relevant educational course or specified course requirements.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a certificate does not constitute:
a statutory qualification;
a professional licence;
registration with a professional body;
accreditation by a veterinary or farriery regulator; or
authority to undertake work outside your existing professional competence or legal scope of practice.
14. No Guaranteed Outcome
We do not guarantee that completing a course will result in:
a particular professional outcome;
increased income;
employment;
business success;
improved performance of a particular horse;
resolution of a particular hoof or lameness problem; or
any specific clinical result.
Results depend on many factors beyond the course content.
15. User Conduct
You must not use the eFarriery Education website or course platform:
for unlawful purposes;
fraudulently;
to gain unauthorised access to another person's account;
to interfere with the operation or security of the platform;
to distribute malicious software;
to harass other users;
to infringe another person's intellectual-property rights; or
to commercially exploit course content without permission.
Serious or repeated breaches may result in suspension or termination of course access.
16. Third-Party Platforms and Services
Our courses may rely on third-party providers, including Thinkific, payment processors, video-hosting services, email providers and other technology services.
Some interruptions or technical problems may therefore arise outside our reasonable control.
We will take reasonable steps to address problems affecting access but cannot guarantee that the platform will operate without interruption at all times.
17. External Links
Course materials may include links to external websites, publications, products or resources.
Links are provided for convenience or educational purposes.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, inclusion of a link does not mean that eFarriery Education controls or endorses the external website, organisation, product or service.
18. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to applicable law, eFarriery Education is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from inappropriate use or application of course information.
Where courses are purchased for business or professional purposes, you remain responsible for professional decisions you make using the information provided.
19. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with the eFarriery Education Privacy Policy.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, including where our services, technology or legal obligations change.
The latest version will be displayed on the website with its effective date.
Changes will not retrospectively remove statutory rights relating to purchases already made.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction, this does not remove any mandatory consumer protections applicable to you under the law.
